The long soak for chickpeas takes a bit but its worth it, these fried balls of Falafel are nice and tender with all the flavour you would expect. And if you want we made a great sauce to go right on top of these delicious heaven balls.

Tahini sauce, smothered in mozzarella covered in Falafel, come on! If you like Falafel this pizza will rock your socks off. Topped with fresh cucumbers, tomatoes and arugula this fried delight gets the light pop it needs, and the depth of flavours you want.

Ingredients

TOPPINGS

  • 2 cups Falafel instructions below*
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • 1 cup Tahini
  • 1 cup Yogurt sauce instructions below*
  • ½ cup Arugula
  • ½ cup Cucumber
  • ½ cup Tomato

WILD PIZZA DOUGH

  • 2 cups Sourdough starter
  • 1 cup Bread flour
  • 1 tsp Salt

FALAFEL*

  • 1 cup Dried chickpeas
  • 2 cups Water
  • ½ cup Red onion
  • 1 cup Parsley fresh
  • 6 cloves Garlic
  • 1 tsp Salt
  • 1 tsp Black pepper
  • 1 tsp Cumin
  • 1 tsp Coriander
  • ½ tsp Cardamom
  • ½ tsp Baking soda
  • ¼ tsp Cayenne pepper

YOGURT SAUCE*

  • 1 cup Plain yogurt
  • 2 tbsp Lemon juice
  • 1 tbsp Cumin
  • ½ tsp Salt

Instructions

FALAFEL*

  • Soak chickpeas in water for 24 hours. Rinse. Add to food processor.
  • Chop onion, garlic, parsley and add to food processor. Add baking soda, salt, pepper, cumin, coriander, cardamom and cayenne pepper. Mix until well blended.
  • Cover mix and refrigerate for 30 minutes. Make falafel using 1½ tbsp of mix per ball.
  • In cast iron pan bring ½" of cooking oil to medium heat. Cook falafel 1-2 minutes each side, or until golden brown. Remove from heat, set aside to cool.

YOGURT SAUCE*

  • Mix yogurt, lemon juice, cumin and salt. Add to squeeze bottle.

WILD PIZZA DOUGH (1 hour)

  • Make your dough by mixing the sourdough starter, salt, and bread flour (adding a bit of flour at a time until it takes shape but is still a little sticky).
  • Knead the dough for 30 seconds, flour lightly as needed.
  • Place the wild dough in a lightly floured bowl and cover with a towel, set aside for 1 hour. (The pizza steel or stone needs to preheat for 1 hour as well, so preheat oven to 550°F after you finish making your pizza dough).

PIZZA

  • Preheat oven to 550°F with baking steel or pizza stone inside the oven.
  • Grate mozzarella cheese.
  • Dice cucumbers and tomatoes.
  • Flour surface and roll out the dough. Put a floured pizza peel underneath the dough.
  • Add tahini, mozzarella cheese then falafel. Pat down the toppings before putting into the oven.
  • Bake pizza at 550°F for 8-10 minutes, by sliding pizza onto baking steel with pizza peel.
  • Remove pizza from oven with pizza peel. Let cool for 5 minutes. Add yogurt sauce and slice up that pizza!

One of the absolute most classic bagels ever, maybe the most memorable and definitely worth trying on a pizza. This Lox Bagel Pizza recipe is incredibly simple and incredibly tasty. If the bagel shop is closed and you need to hit that lox bagel craving this is the way to do it!

Topped with red onions and capers, with delicious smoked salmon lox all resting on the original cream cheese with an added touch of melted mozzarella. Daring enough to toss some fish on a pizza and glad we did! Because this risk was worth taking. Here fishy fishy!

  • Remove pizza from oven with pizza peel. Let cool for 5 minutes. Add 2 slices of Lox to each slice, then add onions and capers.

We all know you can’t get the McRib all year round, but this pizza hack solves that incredible problem. Say hello to the McRib pizza recipe, McDonald’s inspired! We start with a bunch of rib meat, that’s sweet, savoury and sauced to perfection. Topped with thin sliced white onions and dill pickles sliced in thin rounds.

More sauce, we use Sweet Baby Rays but anything sweet and tangy will do the trick. And some cheese is needed to finish off this beast, and when it’s ready, what a treat it is indeed. You can’t get a McRib all year round but you can make the McRib Pizza whenever the heck you want!

Instructions

WILD PIZZA DOUGH (1 hour)

  • Make your dough by mixing the sourdough starter, salt, and bread flour (adding a bit of flour at a time until it takes shape but is still a little sticky).
  • Knead the dough for 30 seconds, flour lightly as needed.
  • Place the wild dough in a lightly floured bowl and cover with a towel, set aside for 1 hour. (The pizza steel or stone needs to preheat for 1 hour as well, so preheat oven to 550°F after you finish making your pizza dough).

RIBS*

  • Remove membrane from back of ribs with paper towel. Quarter ribs, then use 1/2 cup BBQ sauce on both sides and season with salt and pepper. Add ½ cup water to pressure cooker then add ribs. Close and set to pressure cook for 1 hour.
  • When ribs are done remove from pressure cooker and place meat side up on a baking pan. Use another 1/2 cup BBQ sauce to coat the meat side of the ribs. Broil in oven 2-3 minutes watching carefully so the ribs do not burn.
  • Carefully remove ribs from pressure cooker, venting properly and following instapot safety instructions. Let ribs cool, then remove meat from bones and shred. Set aside 2 cups of rib meat.

PIZZA

  • Preheat oven to 550°F with baking steel or pizza stone inside the oven.
  • Slice onions and pickles into rounds.
  • Grate mozzarella cheese.
  • Flour surface and roll out the dough. Put a floured pizza peel underneath the dough.
  • Add 1 cup BBQ sauce, mozzarella cheese, then rib meat, pickles and onions. Pat down the toppings before putting into the oven.
  • Bake pizza at 550°F for 8-10 minutes, by sliding pizza onto baking steel with pizza peel.
  • Remove pizza from oven with pizza peel. Let cool for 5 minutes. Slice it up!

  • Make your dough by mixing the sourdough starter, salt, and bread flour (adding a bit of flour at a time until it takes shape but is still a little sticky)
  • Knead the dough for 30 seconds, flour lightly as needed.

CHICKEN CACCIATORE*

  • Dredge chicken in flour. Heat oil in frying pan to medium. When oil is hot add chicken and fry 5 minutes each side, until golden brown. Remove chicken.
  • Add chopped veggies to frying pan, cook 5 minutes. Add garlic, salt and pepper, cook 2 minutes. Add wine, diced tomatoes, chicken broth, and herbs. Bring to a simmer, and reduce sauce slightly.
  • Add chicken to pan, turning to coat both sides with sauce. Cook for 15 minutes, until sauce is reduced and chicken is fully cooked (165°F).
  • Turn off heat and remove chicken, set aside to cool, then chop and reserve 2 cups. Remove 1 cup of Cacciatore sauce form frying pan. Chop parsley and set a side.

PIZZA

  • Preheat oven to 550°F with baking steel or pizza stone inside the oven.
  • Grate mozzarella cheese.
  • Flour surface and roll out the dough. Put a floured pizza peel underneath the dough.
  • Add sauce, mozzarella cheese, then chicken. Pat down the toppings before putting into the oven.

Grape and Prosciutto Pizza RecipeGrapes? Yes, grapes. Has Papa Za lost his mind, yes, long ago. But this Grape and Prosciutto pizza recipe finds a place in our hearts, it’s so freakin’ good. The expectations on this one were unknown, but we are glad we did it! Not only did we knock this pizza challenge out of the park, we also found a new pizza friend… grapes, I know I know, but ya gotta try it before you knock it.

Green grapes, prosciutto, blue cheese, walnuts and some fresh arugula to make it all fancy-like. Despite its pretentiousness, this is a pizza I would invite back to the party, if it had any friends, they could come too. Who knows whatever kind of grape concoction will blow our minds next, can there possibly be another grape pizza challenge? We haven’t used red grapes yet… If you have a pizza challenge, well, challenge us, what are you waiting for?! Let’s make some weird wild pizza together!

Grape and Prosciutto Pizza

Ingredients

TOPPINGS

  • 1 cup Green grapes
  • 1 cup Prosciutto
  • 1 cup Blue cheese dressing
  • 2 cups Mozzarella cheese
  • ½ cup Arugula
  • ¼ cup Walnuts

WILD PIZZA DOUGH

  • 2 cups Sourdough starter active
  • 1 cup Bread flour
  • 1 tsp Salt

Instructions

WILD PIZZA DOUGH (1 hour)

  • Make your dough by mixing the sourdough starter, bread flour (adding a bit of flour at a time until it takes shape but is still a little sticky) and salt together. Knead the dough for 30 seconds, flour lightly as needed.
  • Place the wild dough in a lightly floured bowl and cover with a towel, set aside for 1 hour. (The pizza steel or stone needs to preheat for 1 hour as well, so preheat oven to 550°F after you finish making your pizza dough).

PIZZA

  • Preheat oven to 550°F with baking steel or pizza stone inside the oven.
  • Halve grapes, slice prosciutto into bite sized pieces, and chop walnuts.
  • Grate mozzarella cheese.
  • Flour surface and roll out the dough. Put a floured pizza peel underneath the dough.
  • Add blue cheese dressing, mozzarella cheese, prosciutto, grapes and walnuts. Pat down the toppings before putting into the oven.
  • Bake pizza at 550 degrees F. for 8-10 minutes, by sliding pizza onto baking steel with pizza peel.
  • Remove pizza from oven with pizza peel. Let cool for 5 minutes. Top with arugula. Slice it up!
